About My Practice

Philosophy

Psychotherapy is about trust and human connection; a process where barriers to personal growth and change are identified and challenged. It is a space for expressing yourself to another person without fear of judgment.

Psychotherapy

In my practice, I strive to create a safe, warm, and supportive atmosphere for processing and exploration where my clients feel heard, understood, validated and empowered to make change. I have extensive experience with depression, anxiety, relational conflicts, self-esteem, substance abuse/addictions, aging, stigma, discrimination, gender and sexual minorities, HIV/AIDS, life transitions, compulsive behaviors, and abuse. I am available for training, and clinical consultation for other mental health professionals.

Practice

My practice is conveniently located in Chicago’s Loop at the corner of Lake Street and Michigan Avenue, with easy access by public transportation. Please do not hesitate to call me if you are interested in setting up a consultation or appointment. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation.

Training and Experience

I have been very fortunate during my career to have worked with several organizations working with marginalized and stigmatized populations. I provided case management and groups at a residential facility for HIV positive persons who were homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. At an LGBTQ community health center, I worked as a psychotherapist with individuals, as well as co-facilitated a therapeutic group for gay men in recovery. I worked with one of Chicago’s largest HIV services organizations providing case management, group and individual psychotherapy.
